New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP)

The New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP) is a funding programme under the HKSAR Government’s Technology Talent Scheme. It aims at subsidising local companies on a 2:1 matching basis to train their staff in advanced technologies, especially those related to “New Industrialisation”. The maximum annual funding is HK$500,000 for each eligible company. 50% of the approved training grant can be released to the companies upon request before course completion. Certified Practitioner in Generative AI for Business Innovation and Applications (CPAI)

Certified Practitioner in Generative AI for Business Innovation and Applications (CPAI)” is awarded by WTIA which aims to empower professionals with advanced skills in applying generative AI for innovative business solutions. This certification not only validates expertise in leveraging GenAI technologies across industries but also signifies a commitment to ethical and strategic AI practices that enhance productivity and creativity. Holders of the CPAI credential are recognized for their ability to drive meaningful AI integration within organizations, positioning them as valuable assets in the evolving digital economy.

Course Introduction

This course offers an introduction to the fundamental technologies and tools of Generative AI (GenAI). It delves into real-world applications of GenAI across diverse business sectors. Participants will acquire the knowledge to harness GenAI techniques effectively, fostering both productivity and creativity. Additionally, they will develop practical skills to implement GenAI solutions for addressing a range of business challenges.

Assessment and Professional Recognition

Each participant is required to submit an Application Paper (Chinese or English) of 500-1000 words to apply the Generative AI technologies in tackling a business case – can be the participant’s own company or a public-known company case. Can focus on different aspects of business operations or management issues.

Upon passing the assessment and achieving 70% or above in attendance, participants will be eligible to apply for the following:
1) “Certificate of Completion” awarded by CUSCS
2) Professional credential “Certified Practitioner in Generative AI for Business Innovation and Applications (CPAI)” awarded by WTIA (WTIA individual membership fees for the first year will be waived).

NITTP Training Grant Application

Eligibility
Companies applying for training grants under the NITTP should fulfil the following requirements:
(a) registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310);
(b) must be a non-government and non-subvented organisation; and
(c) the employee nominated is a Hong Kong permanent resident under full-time employment of the company with the necessary background/experience relevant to advanced technology.

Funding Ceiling
Each company is subject to a funding ceiling of HK$500,000 in each financial year at the course commencement date. NITTP will sponsor 2/3 of the tuition fee and companies should contribute 1/3 of the tuition fee. Companies may also apply for partial advance payment of 50% of the total approved training grant by indicating its preference in the training grant application form, and copy of the tuition fee receipt must be submit to NITTP.

Application Procedures
Companies should send their applications for training grants to the NITTP at least five weeks before course commencement. Late applications may not be processed. Companies should apply via the online system https://nittp.vtc.edu.hk/rttp/login?lang=en and provide the required documents, or submit the application form to NITTP in person, by post, by fax or by email to nittp@vtc.edu.hk together with the required documents.
