1 Objectives
The objective of this course is to help the participants to develop the necessary skills to produce professional-looking brochure, leaflet, poster and printed matters using popular desktop publishing tools.
2 Course Content
1) Graphics design and desktop publishing terminology
2) Things to consider on production - cost, intended audience, content and layout design
3) Basic design, color and typography theory
4) Basic Photo retouching skills - Use of 'Photoshop' to modify digital photo or scanned images
5) Basic Graphics design techniques - Use of 'Illustrator' to create simple vector graphics, company logos and letter arts
6) Putting all together - Use of 'InDesign' to produce layout with texts, photos and graphics
7) Traditional (paper) output consideration
8) Web output - Use of 'Acrobat' to produce web-ready document
Each participant will be provided with one PC terminal for hands-on practice.
